I just began my 20th week of pregnancy and we headed to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Right now our baby girl is the size the size of an heirloom tomato—about 6 inches from head to rump, and weighs about 8.5 oz. On babycenter.com it says her sensory development is exploding! That means she is able to hear our voices and her arms and legs are in proportion to each other and the rest of her body now. Also, the hair on her scalp is sprouting.
During my 19th week we were in Tonsai Bay, Thailand then spent the last two days in Krabi Town. The first couple days in Tonsai were awesome and gorgeous. We did a lot of activities and I felt great. We hiked, kayaked, rock climbed, and enjoyed the island’s natural beauty. The last couple days it rained which was no fun, and unfortunately we didn’t stay at a nice hotel. There is really only one hotel there anyway…the rest of the accommodations are just little cabin shacks. We were pretty much camping in this bungalow. It was fun the first two days, but it got uncomfortable real quick since it rained and the place felt damp, which increased my allergies. When it rains there is nothing to do, just like camping. Most places in Tonsai (including our bungalow) don’t have power from 2am-6pm, which is fine when it’s nice out and you are doing activities, but it’s really inconvenient and annoying when it’s raining and there’s nothing to do. Also, the bed was not comfortable, so when you are pregnant and tossing and turning…not so fun.
My meals for lunch and dinner were Thai food like pad Thai with vegetables and tofu, penang curry with tofu and rice, or green curry with tofu and rice. My snacks were fruit, fresh juice, and dry roasted legumes. I still have been eating my usual morning breakfast of oatmeal and fruit. No big cravings yet…maybe just french fries or potatoes, haha.
My workouts weren’t specific this week like last week. I did have one workout in Bali during my 19the week before we left for the airport, but the rest of the week was hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, and climbing 1,260 stairs at the Tiger Temple in Krabi (that was brutal).
Overall week 19 was great, except our last day at Krabi… On the first day we were there we found an awesome restaurant. The food was tasty and authentic, so we decided to go there again the next day. We later found out the restaurant wasn’t as awesome as we thought because we both got food poisoning. Luckily it was a 24-hour(ish) bug, but I did vomit. Obviously that wasn’t fun, but the positive note was we were staying at a nice hotel in Krabi, so at least I didn’t have the sickness when we were in the bungalow that didn’t have power or a toilet that flushes. Glad it didn’t happen at Tonsai!
As I started my 20th week we had our 20-week check up at Krabi Nakharin International Hospital before our flight to Chaing Mai.

Prenatal Workout Routine Sample
Stretched for 5-10 minutes
TABATA style…four movements, each for eight rounds of 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. The movements were:
– Incline push-up jacks
– Squat with a 6 liter jug of water (weighing about 13lbs) alternating shoulders
– Bulgarian lunges (first 4 one leg, switch legs for the last 4)
– Alternating side lunges with water jug to each shoulders
Hiked through a cave.
Rain, so rested.
Climbed 1,260 stairs at Tiger Temple
Vegan Prenatal Meals for Week 19
Morning: USANA brand prenatal vitamins, DHA, B12
Meal 1: 1/2 cup rolled oats, banana, peanut butter, with 1/2 scoop of growing natural original rice protein. Also, after my oatmeal more fruit like watermelon, pineapple, and mango.
Meal 2: Juice
Meal 3: Pad Thai with tofu and vegetables.
Meal 4: Fruit, dry roasted legumes.
Meal 5: Penang curry or green curry with tofu and rice.
