We had so much fun at the vegan cooking class we took in Bali that we decided to take a Thai cooking class in Chiang Mai. It was a totally different kind of experience, and we loved every minute of it…especially the eating part!
We couldn’t find an all-vegan (or vegetarian) cooking class in Chiang Mai, but Basil Cookery School caught our eye because they promoted their class as being healthy.
Luckily for us they were very accommodating of our diet and had no problem teaching us how to make papaya salad, pad Thai, coconut soup, stir fried vegetables, panang curry, and black sticky rice pudding all vegan!
Our instructor Apple was a blast and made the class super fun. She not only taught us about the Thai ingredients and cooking techniques, but she told us a lot about her culture as well.
It was also cool to share the experience with four other people from around the world. We had three people from South America, and one from South Korea in the class that we got to talk to and hang out with while we ate our culinary creations.
