The process of getting the appointment was very easy—just like in Krabi. All we did was email a hospital and tell them what we needed, and they wrote back with an appointment time.
The test was pretty long since they had to take blood three times and wait an hour in between each, but everything went really smooth and was very simple. The only bad part was having to fast before the appointment, which meant I was super hungry!
Oh, and drinking 76 grams of sugar was disgusting! I originally thought I had to drink a cup of sugar water before each blood draw, but thankfully it was only one cup…I don’t know if I could have handled any more!
We also got to see the baby, and she looked as active, happy, and healthy as ever. So happy for that!
If you’re wondering if it’s possible for foreigners to get prenatal care in Vietnam (or any other country), let me tell you it’s not only possible, but it’s easy…and cheap! The entire visit including the ultrasound and sugar test only cost about $62 USD.
