Powr Cupl Profile: Coryn & Jason Epps

In each Power Couple Profile you will meet a couple that inspires us to grow stronger together. Our goal is to learn from these incredible people and share their unique stories and experiences with our readers. If you know a power couple we should connect with, don’t hesitate to drop us a line!

I met Coryn through Teamedge as we were both one of the original Edge girls. We both competed in the NPC Bikini category. I was drawn to her personality, her passion for fitness, and her kindness. She had this positive energy in her that I loved. Later her love story really inspired me and showed me it’s possible to find love in a short amount of time.

Power 5…

What is your love language? Give an example of how your partner expresses that to you.
Jason: Physical touch and words of affirmation. My wife is very affectionate, she constantly kisses me, caresses me, and she is always encouraging me and prays for me
Coryn: Words of affirmation and acts of service. My Husband is extremely helpful around the house, he cooks, cleans, washes dishes, does laundry, etc. He regularly makes my breakfast and packs my meals when I’m running late. (Which is a lot of the time, lol.) I’ve never felt like I’m on my own and all the housework is on me. Oh, and he carries my stuff around too. He is great at encouraging me and telling me how grateful he is to have me, and he prays for me.

How do you hope to inspire other couples?
By being an example of a God-centered marriage and how great love can be when you put the needs of each other before your very own.

What was the lowest point in your relationship and how did you overcome the difficult times?
Our first year of marriage was tough due to isolation and putting success before everything else. We overcame it by laying everything down, seeking God’s plan, and investing in community with other faith-filled believers.

What is the best investment you have made in your relationship?
Joining the internship program at Oasis LA (our church).

What is the key to a strong and successful relationship?
JESUS, and sex often.

Just a Cupl More…

What role does your religion or faith play in your relationship?
It’s the center and foundation of our lives.

What advice would you give to other couples that have mixed views on religion in their relationship?
You won’t go far if there’s not a common ground and you’re moving in two different directions.

Give us an overview of your business…
Ministry. Love god, love people, live with purpose.

What was the catalyst that made you launch this kind of business?
We believe its God’s will for our lives and it produces purpose & fulfillment.

What is the drive, motive, and goal behind winwithcoryn.com?
Empowering others through God’s love and grace.

What do you guys do for each other or together to stay motivated to keep your business moving forward?
Stay in God’s word, eat right, exercise daily, and spend time together.

How do you support each other when one of you is having a bad day with work?
We take the rest of the day off, go out to eat, talk about things, or pray together. (Always fixes everything.)

Tell us about a mistake you’ve made in your business and what you learned from it.
Rushing into things and not waiting for Gods timing. Trying to sell before giving tons of value to people first and getting them to know that we truly care about others.

In your business, what has proven to be the highest impact marketing strategy at the lowest cost?
Word of mouth, live broadcasting, and collaborating with others.

Since you guys are expecting a little Epps, do you anticipate any change in the business?
Absolutely, it will be a very special season with our first-born. Trusting that God will give us wisdom to balance everything, but family comes first. We’ll continue doing ministry always and excited for our little one to grow up loving people and Jesus also.

Will there be any change in how you divide the work in the businesses after the baby is born? How will you divide the responsibilities at home?
Knowing my amazing husband, he will be a huge help in making my life easier so I can tend to our little one, and also helping me around the house. But of course we can trade off with the baby and divide most things making it smooth on us both. Also, thanks to the time we’ve invested in others and building relationships we now have a village of friends and family that can’t wait to help us with baby Epps.

What advice would you give to other couples that want to start a business together?
Make sure that it’s not just your passion that lines up, but that your motives for starting and sustaining your business are in line. Starting a business is always exciting, its how well you work through your differences and the trials in life that will determine whether you have long-term success. Get your financial priorities in line too—being on the same page with this is also key!
